A Message for a Veterinarian
Client from a Racehorse
through Lynn McKenzie (reprinted with permission)
“Do not pine for my physical presence for I am with you each and every day. Your flow with me was magic, this allowed for the expansion of ‘all that is’, our
love and joy. When your heart feels full, you will sense my presence.
It is this sensing that will help you with the others, those who run, and those who fall.
While there is pain on the physical realm, there is but pure joy on this realm. Our connection
allowed for you, glimpses of this, on your plane.
What you saw in me was just a reflection of yourself, for you are but a vast being of
pure love and joy, with a heart as big and open as any on your plane. Nurture this heart
for you are in an ever expanding mode, on your way to realms unimaginable to you at this
time. Allow this blossoming as you would a rose, for this will heal, both yourself and
others. The divine beings in equine vessels require this of you right now.
My special friend, I am honoured to be your partner. We will
continue to ride together through the dimensions of space and time as we are now one.”

A
Message from a Cat Killed by Coyotes
through Lynn McKenzie (reprinted with permission)
“Life is a dance, nothing more, nothing less. For some
of us it is long and for others quite short. My leaving with the coyote sprit was fate
and part of a soul agreement, which was entered into long ago and one that none of us
are meant to know about while in the physical realm. Do not be angry with the coyotes,
they and we are all part of the circle of life, and doing what we instinctively came
here to do. I have no malice whatsoever towards them. In fact, as a soul, it was a beautiful
experience and I am in absolute gratitude.
I have not really left you. I’ve simply left your plane
and shifted shapes. I will be with you always, now and in other dimensions. Look for
me in your dreams, visions and quiet times, as I will be there. Know that I can hear
your thoughts and words. Call upon me when you need assistance. Listen for my teachings.
Do not weep for me my friends as I am as free as can be, soaring
in the ethers. My energy has always been about freedom and I honor you for seeing that
in me. To tie me down would have been intolerable. In time I shall return to you in another
cat body and you will know me instantly. ‘Till then my dear ones, take good care
and stay connected to who you are.”

The Divine Mission of Animals; Spirit Guidance from our Animal
Companions
by Lynn McKenzie
The wonderful furry, finned and feathered beings that we choose
to share our lives with, or should I say choose to share their lives with us, are so
much more than simply ‘pets’ in
our lives. In fact, I believe that they are the bearers of profound spiritual messages
and prompters of insightful spiritual growth through their gentle, and sometimes not so
gentle nudging. This is because our animal companions have access to, and are guardians
of our Divine Blueprint or Soul’s Blueprint.
The Blueprint can be described as the divine ‘plan for the perfect unfolding of
the highest potential for an individual soul’. It is a perfect state of consciousness,
and can enable the awareness of the ‘ancient memories that lie deep within each of
us’ to resurface. Being guardians of our Blueprints is a role of great magnitude
for our companion animals and one that is not taken lightly. They see it as their life’s
mission and utmost priority. In fact a happy animal is a sign of their
satisfaction with our progress along our own individual paths. Certainly they have their
own blueprints to develop and realize, but unlike many of us, their close ties to the spirit
realm, allow them the strong ability to multitask and therefore help us while continuing
their own development.
How could they possibly guide us, you may ask? In my private
consultations I have seen it all. The animals are masters at their role and divinely
creative in their work. To begin with let me share with you a little about one of my
guides, ‘Lucero’ an Andalusian
Stallion, likened to an ascended master of the equine realm, now in spirit form. We met,
or shall I say our spirits met, somewhere around 1997. At that time I was in private practice
as a Spiritual Psychotherapist and Kinesiologist and just ‘happened’ to attend
an Animal Communication Workshop. Apparently Lucero had already planned for our ‘meeting’,
and what was to transpire as I somehow managed to forget to bring the requested photos
of my dog ‘Jiggs’, the love of my life, to the workshop, and instead consequently
ended up connecting with him. His energy was literally jumping off the
photo at me and I knew then that my life was about to change dramatically. Our connection
was immediate and profound. I had never experienced divine universal love and acceptance
the way I did in that moment. It was like a barrier had been broken for me and I could
now see who I truly was. I knew that the flood of information that was coming through me
was from a source much greater than me; in fact, I was channelling!
After driving home from my weekend away, with the feeling that
my tires had never even touched the ground, it became very clear to me that the course
of my life had changed, and that Lucero was the catalyst. He didn’t just choose me as the one being that
he would work with and guide. As I got to know more about him over time I learned that
he was the benevolent vehicle of change for many other healers as well. In fact, even from
the spirit realm he has called together physical gatherings of healers, one of which I
was lucky enough to attend last November in Canada. Lucero, the divine being of love and
light is just one of the many souls who are in partnership with us for our soul’s
benefit and growth.
Prior to this day, I had always known that my connection to and
communion with god, spirit or the higher power was through animals and nature but what
I didn’t know was that
I would ever be helping others connect in this way professionally. Not
until I had met Lucero anyhow. His ideas for me have definitely reshaped my life.
When doing consultations, some of the most common messages and teachings that I hear from
the animals for humanity are as follows:
• Recognize that all beings have intelligence and sentient
wisdom
• Love yourself and all living beings unconditionally
• Remain grounded and connected to the earths energy
• Live in the present moment
• Surrender to and accept where you’re at
• Follow your heart, follow your bliss
• Practice forgiveness
• Listen to your inner guidance
• Trust yourself
• Approach each day with a sense of wonderment
• Acknowledge yourself as the light beings that you are
• Meditate as often as possible
• Understand the naturalness of the circle of life – life, death and rebirth
If you tune in and pay attention, I’m sure you will witness your animal companions
sharing some of these messages with you. If you don’t feel that you have mastered
telepathy yet, you may just want to notice what they are showing you on the physical level.
For example your indoor animal companion may be seeking out time in the bathroom, the one
area where they can feel truly grounded via the plumbing, or perhaps they may want to lie
down on you right on top of one of your chakras, always the one that needs a little healing
and balancing by the way. They know what they’re doing and everything they do has
a purpose. In consultations I am often asked by the animals to request that their person
spend more time in meditation or for them to slow down a little and go through life a little
more consciously taking time to smell the roses. When we don’t oblige the animals
they will often try even harder to get our attention usually by some
type of behaviour that we find unacceptable such as waking us up in the middle of the night.
When your companion animal is trying to get your attention, always take note!
Acknowledging the sacred in our relationships with our animal companions
is a must for anyone seeking true enlightenment. Recognizing that they come to us to guide
us and heal certain aspects of ourselves including broken hearts, disowned or shadow aspects,
and even physical ailments can give us a whole new perspective on the relationships that
we have with them. Always remember that LOVE is their message.

Healing Animals with
Flower Essences
by Lynn McKenzie
Who doesn’t love flowers? They
are beautiful, full of life force energy, fragrant
and always seem to put us in a good mood. They have
been used in society for years as expressions of
love, celebration, sympathy and thanks. In addition
to this, the ‘energies’ of flowers have been
utilized in healing for close to a century in the
form of flower essences. These subtle but powerful
vibrational energies can help to profoundly heal not
only us but our beloved animal companions on a
variety of levels.
Flower essences were first
developed in England in the 1930's, by researcher
and physician Dr. Edward Bach. The ‘Bach Flower
Remedies’ as they are called, were developed
originally for humans as a catalyst for personal
growth and emotional healing but have also been used
safely in animals over the past sixty years. Many
other flower essence lines have been developed
around the world, since that time, using Bach’s
methods.
One of the most commonly known
Bach Flower Remedies, Rescue Remedy, is a mix of
five different flower essences (Cherry Plum,
Clematis, Impatiens, Rock Rose and Star of
Bethlehem) which together help humans and animals
deal with emergency situations and stressful events.
Most essence producers have their own version of
this remedy which is known to ease stress, distress
and tension, and encourage calm, reassurance and
relaxation. It is a safe alternative to a sedative
or tranquilizer and can be used in animals in any
emergency or stress situation. The uses are
countless.
Simply put, flower essences
are the energetic or vibrational frequencies of
flowers captured in spring water. These frequencies
contain the unique life force energy pattern or
imprint of the flower, and when taken internally as
an essence, they awaken specific resonant qualities
in the animal’s soul. Animals in general are much
closer to nature and flowers than we are as humans,
both physically and figuratively speaking. In
natural surroundings animals even have an innate
knowing of which plants are essential to heal them,
whether by ingesting the plant or just by resting
beside it and absorbing its energy frequency. How
many of you have seen cats basking in the energy of
the alyssum in your flower bed, or witnessed the
dandelion anointed crowns of dogs that have been
rolling on a summers lawn?
In general, animals respond
more profoundly and swiftly to flower essences than
humans, due to the fact that they have considerably
less complicated emotional and mental energy
patterns. Often, the imbalances or dis-eases in
their systems are absorbed from the people in the
home, the environments that they are living in, or
caused as a result of their failure to thrive in
unnatural environments. As the animals are such
sensitive energetic beings, they are also prone to
suffering the collective injustices that are done to
their species as a whole.
Personally I have found in my
more than ten years of healing and communing with
the animals, that there are specific energy patterns
and imbalances, unique to the them, that benefit
from flower essence healing. Therefore, I have
developed a line of essences, The Animal Energy
Essences http://animalenergy.com/flower-essences.html ,
especially for animals and specifically for the
issues that they have been presenting. The benefit
of these essences, which are all blends of more than
one flower, is that they address these specific
situations and patterns as a whole.
To give you an example of what
these essences can do, my Spirit Renew formula was
designed to work at a deep level to enhance and
restore the will to live, help animals heal from
injury, separation, loss, relationship changes,
abandonment and during or after spending time in an
animal shelter. The Who’s the Boss formula was
created to deal with issues related to jealousy,
dominance, aggression, territory and inflexibility,
commonly found, but not exclusively, in dogs. With
the Bach remedies I found I was recommending 4 or 5
remedies to work with this specific situation alone.
I have also developed special remedies for each
individual domestic species that offer over-all
support for vitality, well-being and enhance their
natural qualities.
Flower essences have no impact
whatsoever on animals in the household who don’t
require them, and as a matter of fact it is
recommended that all occupants of a household,
including the people, take the same essences. This
helps to create an integrated and harmonious
environment. Often the animals are absorbing
energies and emotions from the people in the family
anyhow so this may help to clear up the source of
their issues as well.
Essences are fragrance free,
easy to administer and safe. With no known side
effects, they do not interfere with medications
making them a great addition to holistic and
allopathic medicine. Whoever coined the phrase “Take
time to smell the roses” just might have been on to
something.

The
Summer Solstice,
an Auspicious Time for our Animal Companions
by Lynn McKenzie
The Summer Solstice or
time of "great light" is upon us here in the
northern hemisphere, and at this time of year, we
(and our animal companions) ‘can truly feel the
effects of Father Sun, as his yang rays warm our
Mother Earth’. This union brings forth an abundance
of life, food, warmth, creativity, higher
consciousness and awareness. Many people around the
world mark this special time of year with ceremonies
to honour the longest, and most light-filled day of
the year, and in many cases our animal companions
also take part.
This can be a very significant time of year for our
animal friends. In the wild, animals are extremely
in tune with nature and the ebbs and flows of the
seasons. On a physical level, solstices often mark
specific times for them for activities such as
mating, hibernation, migration and transformation.
Our animal companions are also very much in tune
with us, and are connected to our rising
consciousness and awareness, as well as the
collective universal energies as a whole, which are
very much heightened and magnified at this time. In
my many years of practicing animal communication and
healing, I have seen a vast number of significant
events in our animal companion's lives take place on
solstices and other auspicious days. Often these
dates mark a natural part of the cycle of life for
the animals, whether it be birth, death, or rebirth
(reincarnation). This is due in part to the fact
that our animal companions, especially the ones that
live with more enlightened humans, are very
sensitive to energies in general, and at these
times, the veils are thinner and the energies are
stronger, providing for ease of movement, whether to
into a new physical body, or into the afterlife. In
my recent MasterMind interview with Pioneer Animal
Communication Specialist Penelope Smith, she
mentions that sometimes this occurs because the
animal companion is either able to bring us a
greater gift, or open a beneficial portal, at this
time. My Golden Retriever, Jiggs, made his
transition during a very auspicious time himself. He
left the physical plane on Sept. 10, 2007, the day
after the 9-9-9 harmonic energy signifying
'completion or ending of a transitional cycle and
the commencement of the first new earth cycle' and
the day before the new moon and partial solar
eclipse signifying the 'completing of the old cycle
and commencing the new'.
Happy Summer Solstice to you and yours, and don't be
surprised if mother nature shows you a symbol of
transformation during this time, perhaps you'll spot
a snake, frog, butterfly or caterpillar while going
about your daily business or enjoying a stroll in
nature.

A Client
Receives Life Changing Guidance from her Bunny
Lulu Belle
by Lynn McKenzie
I have mentioned many times
that I feel our animal companions come to us as
spiritual guides and even continue to guide us from
the other side, once they have crossed over. During
the last number of years my coaching and consulting
practice has evolved toward helping people connect
with, and learn from, this divine guidance offered
by their animal companions. Clients are able to
utilize it to move closer to their ‘divine
blueprint’ or highest expression of their soul’s
purpose. Many have taken the information that comes
through from their animal companions, and made major
changes and decisions in their life, even business
decisions, and this is very exciting for me!
A wonderful example of this is my client Lisa in La
Jolla California who received and acted upon
guidance from her bunny Lulu Belle which led to a
life altering experience for her, that involved
following her hearts desire, changing careers, and
hence creating a whole new lifestyle for herself.
Here’s how the story goes: Lisa had been looking to
get a bunny for some time but didn’t have that
special feeling she knew was so important with many
of the bunnies that she looked at. That was until
she connected with the sweet bunny soul who came to
be known as Lulu Belle, and here’s what Lisa says
about it “I asked at the store to hold her, and the
moment I held her, I KNEW she was mine. I told my
boyfriend at the time ‘this is the one’, and he
asked me if I was sure, and I said a resounding
yes!”. Lisa knew with every cell of her being that
Lulu Belle was the wonderful soul that was meant to
share her life. Little did she know at that time,
that her life would change beyond measure as a
result of her partnering up with this cuddly little
bunny.
During the course of Lulu Belles short life, Lisa
was guided by her to leave her career in real estate
and follow her true bliss, to create an online
fashion boutique. Fashion has always been a passion
for Lisa and something that she has a genuine talent
for. Now when she wakes up in the morning she
doesn’t have to dread doing a career that doesn’t
make her heart sing but instead does something she
loves with the full support of her rabbit friend in
spirit form who is now offering her guidance from
the other side.
This new venture has been a very successful endeavor
for Lisa, so successful in fact that she has
launched a physical boutique as well in La Jolla CA,
and guess what it’s called? Lulu Belle Boutique!
Lucky you, if you live nearby, and are able to pay
her a visit. If not, you can see the fruits of Lulu
Belle’s guidance at
http://www.lulubelleboutique.com/ .
Lisa has this to say about Lulu Belle: “She was the
most loving animal I have ever met. She was sent to
me to teach me unconditional love and to follow my
heart, and she was the true inspiration for my store
and new found career, something I am so passionate
about!” How wonderful and transformative for Lisa
that she was able to connect with the guidance from
Lulu Belle and heed the message.
This evolution in my own work is obviously a part of
my own soul’s blueprint which I am continually
guided towards by Jiggs, Lucero and all my other
animal guides. The new name of my newsletter, ‘The
Divine Mission of Animals’, reflects this evolution,
and I am forever grateful to the animals for this
guidance. What are your animals calling to you?

Assisting
our Animal Companions with their Transition
by Lynn McKenzie
This topic is one which felt timely today after
helping a number of clients with this sometimes
gut wrenching but often loving gift we give our
animal companions. When we share our lives and
love with wonderful beings of the furred,
feathered and finned variety there often comes a
time when we feel their decline and know that
their quality of life is waning, and that their
suffering is increasing. Assisting them on their
journey to the other side may become an
inevitable option, yet many of us still wonder
“am I doing the right thing”. That is something
that only you can answer for yourself; some of
you may have religious beliefs that do not agree
with euthanasia and others may just not be able
to think about it.
My litmus test for knowing whether it’s time or
not, is to tune into the soul or spirit of the
animal to see what they are feeling about the
situation (this is a large part of my services).
Many are very willing to have themselves freed
from bodies that are no longer serving them, so
they can run and jump like youngsters, in the
ethers, and yet there are others who may prefer
to make their transition naturally. My
experience has been that often times our animal
companions will work with our own personal
belief systems when it comes to their crossing.
If we do not believe in assisting them, they
will accept that and adapt accordingly. To bring
some comfort to those who have assisted their
animal companions at the end, I have never
spoken to a being on the other side who
complained about what was ‘done to them’, in
fact all of the animals on the other side seem
to be in a wonderful, blissful state of
happiness, in a place where they’re wanting for
nothing. It’s us, those who are left behind,
that tend to toil so much over it. Our grief for
their loss can sometimes come in the form of
denial that they were really ready for their
transition, guilt for making the decision for
them etc. Unfortunately, that is human nature.
Many times I am asked by a client if their
animal companions will ever forgive them for
their decision to help them transition and I
want to assure all of you that they see it as
the ultimate gift and the truest expression of
love. Your animal companions, both here and on
the other side are always in tune with your
innermost feelings and intentions and ‘read’
them as the barometer for how you feel about
them and what you intend for them. They can
still access your thoughts and love even when on
the other side so be sure to communicate with
them and let them of how you feel.

Walking
Gently Through the Transition of our Animal
Companions
by Lynn McKenzie
Facing the transition of one we love, whether
human or animal, is not something we like to
think about, but the reality and inevitability
of it makes it something we must do, often many
times, when we choose to share our lives with
animal companions. I thought I’d share a few
tips that I found helpful, to help you
consciously negotiate the process whenever this
time comes for you.
Be present – do your very best to stay in the
present moment with your animal companion
throughout the entire process. This way you can
be fully there for both them and yourself.
Breathe – be sure to breathe deeply throughout
all of the trials and tribulations of the
process including that actual moment when the
soul leaves the body, if you are there. When
stressed we often forget to breathe deeply and
receive the healing benefits associated with it.
Be grounded – maintain your connection to Mother
Earth. Feel your feet on the floor and your
energy field firmly around you. If you are
having problems grounding, either lie down on
the ground, or hug a tree, you will be amazed at
the shift you will experience.
Keep your Animal Companion Comfortable – at the
end of the life of your animal companion, do you
very best to keep them as comfortable as
possible, always being conscious of what and how
they’re feeling.
Gentle Support – use flower essences to support
you and your animal companions through the
process. I used my Easing Loss formula.
Honor their Process – honor the process they go
through, it is not always as clear cut as we
would like, and may take turns which can be hard
on us, but by staying connected to and allowing
them their process, we are offering a wonderful
gift to them.
Allow them to go – let them know that it’s ok to
go, and that you will be ok. Often they will
hang on for us, and by letting them know that
it’s ok for them to go, you help to free their
soul.
Understand the naturalness of the process – the
cycle of life, death and rebirth is all around
us in nature. Each part of this cycle is as
natural as another. Our animal companions
celebrate death, and show me images of
themselves as soaring like eagles after leaving
their bodies. It is true joy for them.
Be Gentle with Yourself – allow yourself enough
time to grieve, and process your emotions.
Letting them out now, will be much healthier
than pushing them down, as they have a tendency
to fester when unexpressed. I used my flower
essence Easing Loss and the homeopathic Ignatia
and they were a godsend.
Practice Self Care – do nice things for
yourself. Get a massage, go for a healing
treatment, take baths, spend a weekend away or
simply in nature. Whatever it is that will
really make you feel cared for.
Stay connected to their Sprit – know that your
animal companions will stay connected to you in
spirit, and that the love that you shared
doesn’t end with the ending of their physical
body. Their spirits live on and they love to
connect with you from the other side, either
directly or though the help of an animal
intuitive.
I hope you don’t need these tips soon, but you
will have them when you do. I followed them
during my time of loss, and they were very
useful to me.

a substitute for good Veterinary care.

Healing
Animals with Dowsing
by Lynn McKenzie
I get so excited about dowsing that I wanted to
jump right in and tell you about the wonderful
things you can do with it, but then I remembered
that some of you may not even know what dowsing
is, so I will take a couple of deep breaths,
back up and start from the beginning. Dowsing is
a method of tapping into the collective
consciousness using a pendulum, L rod, bobber,
or even your own body in the case of an advanced
dowser. For the purposes of this article, and
simplicity, I’m going to stick to the use of a
pendulum. You may wonder how you can possibly
get useful information from an inanimate object
like a pendulum but what is really happening, is
that the pendulum is showing you (the dowser)
the effects of neuromuscular changes in your
hands, as a result of your body’s reaction to
the answer, to the questions asked. That is a
mouthful, and perhaps a lot to grasp but it is
exactly what happens. To obtain accurate results
a dowser must be balanced, centered, grounded
and hydrated.
Moving on to the practical applications of
dowsing, my favorite way of describing what I
use it for, is the ‘matching of energies’. Say
you want to choose a flower essence or crystal
for an animal companion, with dowsing; you can
pick the one that is most beneficial for them,
at this time. As any dowser knows, the one that
is most beneficial is not always the one that
seems most obvious. You can also use dowsing to
pick a Veterinarian or groomer, to choose the
best diet and supplements for your animal
companion and even to become more in tune and
intuitive with them. Really, the sky is the
limit here. I use it regularly in my healing
system to clear energies and promote wellbeing
with fantastic results.
With dowsing, you can answer any question that
has a yes or no answer. Once you are proficient
at it, it can be very empowering for you, and
will definitely enhance your bond with your
animal companions.
Please Note: Dowsing is not a substitute
for good Veterinary care.

Chakras
and Animals
by Lynn McKenzie
While teaching my most recent Teleclass entitled
Healing and Understanding Animals through
the Chakras, I having been sharing with
my students the different issues and imbalances
related to each particular chakra. I thought I’d
give you a sampling of that information here, in
hopes that it will be relevant to you, or your
animal companions. I’ve chosen the root chakra,
sometimes known as the base chakra, to write
about today, as it is one that relates to so
many of the issues facing our animal companions.
In case the concept of chakras is completely new
to you, they are simply energy voticies or
portals which enable our animal companions to
absorb and assimilate universal life force
energy.
The root chakra is all about safety, trust,
security, individuality, grounding, health,
courage, and status in the pack, or herd.
Imbalances in this chakra can occur in so many
ways including abandonment, abuse, stays in a
shelters or small stalls, or even not having
enough access to the healing energies of mother
earth. Our animal companions are so connected to
nature and require varying amounts of connection
to the ground to maintain their equilibrium. You
know you own animal companions best, and will
know instinctively if they are requiring more
contact with mother earth.
It’s interesting to note that the element that
relates to this chakra is the ‘earth element’
and the spirit animal that is sometimes
associated with the root chakra is the mole, and
where do we find the mole I might ask? The
‘spirit medicine’ of the mole is all about
learning to respect our dependence on the
alchemy of the earth. It is this alchemy of the
soil, after all, that supports all life. I feel
it is a safe bet to deduce in fact, that in
order to keep all of our root chakras healthy,
we must protect this alchemy of the earth.
If you have an animal companion that you suspect
has an imbalance such as un-groundedness,
excessive fear or timidity, hopelessness, apathy
or any issues related to their individuality or
their place in the pack, you can help them in
the following ways. The color red is a balancer
for the root chakra and you can simply place
that color around them, in bedding, or on
collars or halters. You can also place a crystal
such as garnet or hematite near them (always
thinking of safety first, of course). Or, you
can simply get them out on mother earth to soak
up her rays, more frequently. For those of you
who have had private consultations with me, you
already know how important I feel it is for our
animal companions to be grounded, and you know
the drill.
Please Note: Animal
Communication and Healing is not a substitute for

Veterinary care.

Colour Therapy
by Lynn McKenzie (Reprinted with permission
of Animal Wellness Magazine)
Have you ever stopped to wonder why fire engines and stop lights
are coloured red? Perhaps you’ve noticed that certain colours just lift your spirits and put you in a great
mood while they may do the exact opposite for your spouse or friend. There’s good
reason for this. Scientific data confirms that each colour found in the visible light spectrum
has it’s own measurable wavelength and vibrational frequency. This means that the
colour blue is vibrating at a different frequency, or energy level, than
the colour red. Individuals, as well as our animal companions, will have varying reactions
to each specific frequency. It is these particular vibrations of colour that treat various
conditions by promoting healing and balance in whatever areas that our bodies (or those
of our animal companions) are lacking. Issues on physical, emotional, mental or spiritual
levels may be treated.
Colour therapy (also known as chromatherapy) is an ancient form
of healing which has it’s
roots in India (Ayurvedic Medicine), Egypt, and China. To fully understand how colour therapy
works and the level that it works on, it’s important to have a general understanding
of the human/ animal energy field. In addition to our visible physical bodies, we are each
made up of energetic bodies, including the aura or subtle bodies, chakras, and meridians.
Universal life force energy enters our field through the subtle bodies and works it’s
way through them to the chakras. From there it travels along the meridians and makes it’s
way into the nervous, endocrine and circulatory systems and then on to
the cells, tissues and organs of the body. When our energy fields are clear of blockages,
imbalances and negative influences this process runs smoothly and good health is maintained,
however issues, even those that are emotional in nature can interfere with this flow. It
is through vibrational therapies such as colour that we can help to restore the balance
in this system.
Administering colour to animals can be done in various ways including
using coloured fabrics for bedding and blankets, selecting specific colours for halters
and collars, bathing them in lights from a colour-filtered light source or solarizing
their drinking water. To use colour via light, simply place a coloured light (or regular
light with a theatrical colour gel or transparency over it) in an area of the house or
stall with a comfy place for them to rest and allow the animal to gravitate to the area
on their own. Their instincts will naturally guide them towards what their bodies need.
It is very important to make sure they are not subjected to this in a crate, cage or
small stall where they are not able to get away from it when they wish to. They will
intuitively know if and when they’ve
had enough. To solarize drinking water, simply surround a glass container
of water with an appropriately coloured theatrical gel and leave it in the sunlight for
a number of hours. Then serve this water to your animal companion in their dish or water
bucket.
The following is a partial list of colours that can be used and their healing properties
on psychological levels
Red - Vitality, Courage, Self Confidence
Use for a timid animal or when your companion animal is facing a particularly
demanding day and needs extra energy
Orange - Happiness, Confidence. Enthusiasm
Use to bring joy to your animal companion, and to help them to be more
independent, self assured and social
Yellow - Mental Ability, Versatility, Playfulness
Use when concentration is needed or to promote playfulness and flexibility
in rigid animals
Green - Balance, Love, Calmness
Use to help relax your animal companion and bring about a feeling of
peace, harmony and unconditional love
Blue - Health, Knowledge, Relaxation
Use to help pacify nervous and hyperactive animal companions, especially
those who fret or appear to ruminate
Indigo Sedative, Calming, Intuition
Use to enhance telepathic communication with your animal companion, also
to calm and sedate them and clear away anger
Violet - Soothing, Inspiration, Creativity
Use to give inspiration to an animal during training or difficult tasks,to
promote soothing and calming, and to dispel depression
In my healing practice, I have successfully used the colour blue on an elderly dog with
bad hips and arthritis to help ease his pain during his final days. I have also recommended
using the colours red and orange for a client with a top performing show dog who was required
to compete during a false pregnancy while feeling very lethargic and definitely not interested
in putting her best foot forward. Another frequently used and favourite of mine is the
colour violet to help lift depression. This is a condition that due to many factors is
more prevalent than we often realize.
You may be one of the many people who is wondering if animals
can see colour. There has been a long standing belief that they can’t. As an Animal Communicator and Healer,
animals have shown me time and time again that they can, via the images and impressions
that they send me, but to double check this fact, I called a Holistic Veterinarian who
confirmed for me that she also believes that they do see colour. What’s interesting
to note here is that even if they don’t, it’s the vibrational frequency of
the colour not the visual impact that will work on their energy bodies
to do the required healing.
While most of what we’ve talked about so far relates to
the healing of emotional and behavioural issues, colour therapists routinely work with
coloured light sources on physiological issues with great success. To give you a general
understanding of how this works, cool coloured lights such as blue, green and violet
are used to treat heated conditions such as inflammation or ulcers, whereas cool conditions
such as poor circulation respond best to warm coloured lights like red, orange and yellow.
To gain a further understanding I highly recommend referring to the book Let
There be Light by Darius Dinshah or taking a class with The
Colour Institute.
By being conscious of what colours we are placing in our animal
companion’s surroundings,
we can definitely influence their energy fields in a positive way, and hopefully, avoid
any undesired effects. For those of you with an energetic puppy or kitten, perhaps you
might want to think twice before redecorating your dining room in red…….green anyone?
Please Note: Colour Therapy is never a replacement for good Veterinary care.

Communicating with the Animals
by Lynn McKenzie (first appeared in The Omega Source Directory)
Do you ever wonder what it is about the connection with our animal companions that seems
to feel so significant, deep and relevant to us? People are becoming increasingly aware
at this point in time that animals are teachers and healers and it is our job to listen
to them. Personally I believe that the path to self-awareness and personal healing is through
communion with our animal companions. How do we do that you might ask?
As a professional Animal Intuitive or intuitive communicator, I do it regularly and I
will share with you some of the techniques I use, so that you may experiment with them
yourself. I believe that given the desire, everyone has the ability to master this skill;
in fact I feel that it is our birthright.
In my work I use telepathy to communicate with the animals. I
like to think of the developing of our telepathic abilities as an ever- evolving spiritual
discipline. The more you put into it, the greater the benefits you will reap. Like many
other spiritual disciplines, the key components are quieting the mind and focusing the
intention. Next I visualize a beam of light running from my third eye and heart center
to the animal’s heart center
forming a triangle. I then make a connection with the animal’s soul or spirit by
calling out their name three times, either verbally, out loud, or silently in my head.
When I feel I’ve made the connection it’s time to send questions to them and ‘listen
on the inside’ for the answers. This entails really listening to whatever information
comes my way whether it’s via a voice, feeling, picture or symbol. The data may come
in many forms and is usually fleeting. Often when beginners hear this information it’s
in their own voice and this can create doubt. Practice and confidence
will alleviate this and make it easier to trust and accept what is received.
‘What do they tell you?’ you might be wondering. No personal secrets, don’t
worry, just information that is relevant to their health, happiness and
well being, or, yours. You see the animals are just as concerned about you, as you are
about them. They may choose to converse about personal preferences, routines or household
changes they want to see implemented, or perhaps health concerns. They will even negotiate
with you on behavioural or what I would term emotional issues. This can be very effective
in eradication of undesirable behaviour. Sometimes they just want to share information
about their higher purpose for being with you.
Animal communication is a magical experience and whatever form
it takes we are all privileged to be a part of it. If we listen to the animals, they
will teach us not only how to heal them, but also how to heal ourselves and mother earth.
They are pleading with us at this time to wake up and become conscious, let’s not
let them down.

Animal
Communication and Fleas, a Unique Approach
(Ticks, and Heartworm Too!)
by Lynn McKenzie
Occasionally I am called upon in my Animal
Communication and Healing Practice to help a
client deal with fleas or ticks.
My personal philosophy on helping our animal
companions stay flea, tick and even heartworm
free is by maintaining a strong and healthy
immune system by feeding them a 100% natural
diet (yes that means real food!) and avoiding
placing any toxins either on or near them. While
this goes completely against the grain of
conventional Veterinary treatment, I do it
myself and it works. In fact natural prevention
is all I do with my own almost 14 year old
Golden Retriever, Jiggs, who is now virtually
flea free in an area, know for heavy flea
population. I also include regular swims in the
healing and very salty ocean water as I find
this a wonderfully natural and low cost flea
preventative (it also helps his arthritis
immensely but that’s for another story). I don’t
give Jiggs heartworm medication either, as I
have been relying on his vibrant health and
salty coat as a preventative.
When clients contact me regarding trouble with
fleas and ticks, I always recommend the
following:
• Speak to your Holistic Veterinarian about
natural prevention and cures
• Find supplements to boost his or her immune
system
• Try to make your animal companion as least
desirable to these parasites as possible, as
they tend to prey on the weaker, less healthy
animals
As far as the actual animal communication goes,
I use it to connect with the animal to find out
what they need and want in relation to immediate
treatment and preventative measures. More often
than not, if one of my clients notices a flea or
two, my first approach is to connect with the
fleas themselves. This is a very unconventional
approach and is based on the belief that all
sentient beings have divine wisdom. They are
living beings with their own opinions and
perspectives to share and might even just be
here as a wake up call for those of us who are
ready, urging us to look deeper into the health
of our animal companions to see what we can do
to boost it.
I first of all thank the fleas for whatever
information they are bringing to me or the
animal’s guardian, as I find that gratitude goes
a long way in negotiating with them. I then
explain to them the havoc and discomfort they
are causing, assuring them that we have received
their message, whatever it may be, loud and
clear, and then ask them to move on, or even
transmute, by leaving this life form and
reincarnating as another. What I do find, is
that if they are given a voice and allowed to
share their wisdom, they are often very willing
to help by moving on. Unfortunately what can
often happen in our quick fix world is that we
humans get so resistant to them (you’ve all
heard the saying ‘what you resist, persists’)
that they tend to stay and increase in numbers.
I prefer to put my energy and focus on a healthy
vibrant animal companion, and build the energy
around that thought rather than giving it to
thoughts of the fleas. To some of you, this may
sound like ‘pie in the sky’ thinking but I truly
have found it to work. Years ago I had a regular
client with 12 dogs and 3 cats call me up in a
panic. She lives in a high flea area but chooses
to use as natural an approach to flea prevention
as possible. She had taken a couple of her dogs
out to an agility event and when she returned
she found a few fleas on one or two of them. She
was mortified! If they had spread through the
pack and to the cats it could be disastrous and
she would need her whole house fumigated, and
this was something she was definitely against. I
used my communication skills to talk to the
animals in the home and the fleas and taught her
how to connect with them herself (she was a past
student of mine) and ‘low and behold’ the fleas
chose not to take up residence in her house.
I know for some of you that I may be stretching
your comfort zone by suggesting these methods
but in my decade plus practice, I have seen
positive results and much prefer this method to
using harmful products that weaken the animals
immune systems further and therefore increase
the vicious cycle of making them more
susceptible to the fleas. Can I convince you to
talk to your holistic vet about this?

Interspecies Telepathic Communication
by Lynn McKenzie
I recently received an article
from a friend that describes a parrot with an
unparalleled power to communicate with people.
N’kisi, an African Grey, invents his own words and
phrases such as ‘flied’ for ‘flew and ‘pretty smell
medicine’ for aromatherapy when he is confronted
with ideas for which he does not possess vocabulary
for. He even jokes around and introduces interesting
phrases into conversation.
The intelligence of this being is in itself is
amazing, but the part of the article that really
sparked my interest was the part about interspecies
telepathic communication. If you have always wanted
to believe in animal communication but felt that you
needed some ‘concrete’ proof that it is in fact
possible, I think this may do it for you.
“In an experiment, N’kisi and his artist owner were
put in separate rooms and filmed as the artist
opened random envelopes containing picture cards”.
Obviously parrot and woman were still in complete
communion with one another despite the separate
locations as “analysis showed the parrot, from the
other room, had used appropriate keywords for the
cards three times more often than would be likely by
chance. This was despite the researchers discounting
responses like "What ya doing on the phone?" when
N'kisi saw a card of a man with a telephone, and
"Can I give you a hug?" with one of a couple
embracing.
As I was preparing to write this article, a timely
newsletter from Liz Mitten Ryan arrived in my inbox
with the following quote from her new book:
"Consciousness is ALL and ALL is consciousness.
There is only one consciousness. When you realize
the implications of this truth you realize that
thoughts anywhere in the world, human or animal, are
all available. It is harder for humans to tap into
the consciousness of ALL, but it is possible, and
even more so, when we connect with animals and
nature. Like Monet says, you must make it routine.
It is similar to meditation, but a meditation done
in the company of animals and nature. It is
particularly easy in the presence of horses, as the
vibration of their energy is large and of a high
frequency."
"The reason animals are all connected to
consciousness is that they have not formulated any
rules or limitations as to how the world works, -
they simply respond to their intuition rather than
discounting it as unscientific. Science is beginning
to discover that infinite possibility does not
follow rules."
I couldn’t have written it any better myself, it
echoes my sentiments exactly. Each of us can
communicate with our animal companions and all of
life by accessing the collective consciousness. All
it takes is trust, intention, practice and a little
time spent in solitude with nature and the animals.
I am currently working on a new in depth home study
audio course and manual to help you to do just that.
Keep an eye out for further details.

Flash
Gordon; Parakeet and Master Healer!
by Lynn McKenzie
“Who would have thought, that
a flyaway budgie could have such wonderful teachings
and profound healing effects on my unsuspecting,
bird loving client, Peter?” Upon meeting and getting
to know ‘Flash Gordon’, or ‘Flash’ as he sometimes
likes to be called, during the course of our
sessions, it is a question I keep asking myself.
Flash just appeared one day out of nowhere, at one
of Peters many bird feeders. At this time, Peter was
struggling with the emotional demons of fear,
anxiety, and depression and was having a difficult
time pulling himself out from under their grasp.
It appears that Flash took this as the perfect
window of opportunity to wend his way in to Peter’s
heart and slowly start to work his unique budgie
magic, on his soul. By showing up as a neon green
budgie, whose natural home is in the jungle, there
was not much of a chance that this being’s light
could be missed. Flash needed Peter to notice him,
and he did.
Being the wonderful healer and teacher that Flash
is, it was not long before Peter looked forward to
his regular visits and began to learn what he was
here to share. One of the things that I find
interesting is that Flash initially showed himself
to Peter in ways that he could relate to. He showed
his scientific approach to learning important new
things like how to land on particular perches so
that he could reach the premium food that he wanted,
he also showed great compassion and love while
studying the blind eyes of an elderly grackle. These
are qualities that caught Peter’s attention simply
because they are qualities he possessed himself so
they resonated well within him.
As time went on there were many instances that Peter
expressed his fears for Flash’s safety to me,
whether they be due to visits by a resident hawk, or
inclement weather, etc. Each and every time Flash
pumped himself up like the powerful warrior type
being that he is, and told me there was nothing to
worry about. Flash even exhibited the instincts of a
wild bird, even though it was obvious that he had
been tame at some point. It seemed he could
telepathically tap into his wild companions, and
absorb what he needed from them, as required.
Through the course of our consults it became
apparent that Flash was fearless, strong, confident,
and wise, all attributes that he urged Peter to
adopt. Flash helped him see that a life lived
without worries and fears, perhaps lived even a
little on the edge, could bring pure joy and bliss.
Flash continued to share the absolute delight he
experienced in his freedom, and made it very clear
that he had no interest in coming back inside, no
matter what the circumstances. I felt Peter on the
precipice of opening his own wings and taking flight
himself. It seemed that his heart had been residing
in the spiritual, emotional and ethereal realms
while his head still had a foothold in all the
scientific training he’d had. Flash was showing him
that once he let his heart lead, that he would be
able to spread his own wings and soar.
Flash is off on his own journey right now to avoid
the harshest elements of winter, but continues to
oversee Peter’s transformation and growth in spirit.
Weekly I see Peter glimpsing light, joy and
empowerment and I sense Flash smiling down on him.

Will my
Beloved Animal Companion Reincarnate?
by Lynn McKenzie
I am often asked by clients how they will know
if their animal companion is coming back to them
through reincarnation, or if in fact their
animal companion is a reincarnation of a
previous one. I want to share with you that very
frequently, actually more often than not, our
animal companions do spend numerous lifetimes
with us, and often even ‘travel’ with us through
a number of our lifetimes. This is why they are
so often experts at our life’s purpose and
soul’s divine mission, whether we acknowledge it
or not. Sometimes they even know us better than
we know ourselves.
While exploring this in sessions with clients
over the years and talking to thousands of
animals, I have found an interesting scenario.
In cases where our animal companions do not
reincarnate, for whatever reason, there is often
a part of them that comes through in our new
animal companions. In a way it’s like a piece of
their soul is here with us while they reside on
another plane.
Take my new puppy Carly for example. Many of you
know that my beloved Golden Retriever Jiggs made
his transition in September 2007 at 14 ½ . He
made it clear to me then that it wasn’t his
intention to return to me in the near future, if
at all, as he had important things to take care
of from the spirit realm, mainly guiding me and
influencing the direction of my teaching,
writing and life. Being very much like me, and
not one to want to miss out on things, I truly
see pieces of him in Carly. I know for a fact
that Carly is not a full embodiment of Jiggs but
I find some of the idiosyncrasies to be uncanny.
Right off the bat, Carly started trying to lick
my eyelashes, not exactly a regular dog-like
behavior, but one that Jiggs did as a young
puppy. Next, she insisted on coming into the
bathroom right after I got out of the shower to
lick the water droplets off my ankles and shins.
This is one of her favorite activities and one
that gets her fluffy white tail wagging so hard
that you’d think it was the high light of her
day. I don’t really know if this is standard dog
behavior, but I’d venture a guess that it’s not,
and again it was one of Jiggs’ favorites in his
younger years. Another of her perhaps unusual
traits, and one that mimicked Jiggs again, was
her absolute ease at being left alone in the
house, right from the first day she arrived. I
had to pop out for some veggies, and decided
that after her long car trip up here from
Scottsdale, and being left by her lifetime
caregivers, and separated from her doggie
friends, that taking her out again might have
been too much for her, so I opted to leave her
alone in an ex pen while I made the trip. It did
not phase her a bit that I left! .Jiggs shared
this ease at being left alone with her, and I
know for sure that this is not normal puppy
behavior.
I had quite a few conversations with Jiggs about
this, just to double check things as they sure
were suspect, and it seems that when he sent
Carly to me, he sent a puppy with many of his
familiar traits. He went on to say that she is a
part of his soul group and that there is a very
deep connection between the two but they are not
one in the same soul. So in this new little
girl, I have some very sweet memories of my old
boy, and he has this new little body to inhabit
from time to time to connect with me on the
physical realm. Now I know why I keep calling
her Jiggs!

January/February 2008 issue Equine Wellness
Magazine
In the late 1970s, my equine
companion Battle Sterling, a registered thoroughbred
and Canadian hunter, had a red winter blanket. I
hadn’t given the color much thought and can’t even
remember whether or not I chose it myself, but I
definitely remember what happened each fall when I
pulled it out of storage and suited him up. He would
spend days with his head bent around, staring at his
body.
At the time, I assumed he must
have been assessing how dapper he looked in his
beautiful coat. But knowing what I know now, I feel
he was actually soaking up the color red, a very
grounding and healing hue, and obviously one he
required. After a number of days, when he’d had his
fill of it, he would happily go back to his normal
routine.
In our day-to-day activities with our equine
partners, we expose them to a myriad of colors. Each
has its own specific frequency, energetic vibration,
and particular healing qualities. These colors can
play a dramatic role in a horse’s health and well
being.
What is Color Therapy?
Color therapy is an ancient form of healing with
roots in India, Egypt, and China. Originally, the
term referred to treatment with colored light, but
nowadays there are many additional approaches to
healing with color. To understand how it actually
works, and the levels it works on, it is important
to have a general understanding of the equine energy
field. In addition to a horse’s visible physical
body, he also has a number of energy bodies,
including the emotional, mental and etheric. It is
on each of these levels that the vibration of color
works.

Six Ways to Heal With Color
1. Shining light
You can simply shine an appropriately colored light
in the direction of the area you are trying to heal,
or in the general direction of the horse. If you
don’t have a colored bulb, you can shine a regular
light bulb through a theatrical color gel. This may
take a bit of ingenuity to set up, but will be well
worth the effort.
Hint:
Light is energy and carries a
frequency, so it can have a very strong impact on
our more sensitive equines.
It is important not to shine colored light directly
at the eyes, or force a horse to look into the light
through a color gel, as this can trigger a strong
response, such as a headache, sharp pain in the
eyes, or even an emotional reaction. It is also
important not to confine him in a small stall for
long periods where he can’t get away from the light
if he desires. I recommend staying with the horse
initially, or checking on him frequently, until you
are completely sure of his reaction.
2. Solarize his drinking water
Take some of your horse’s regular drinking water and
place it in a large glass bottle or bowl. Then set
the appropriate color gel on top of it, and set it
out in the sunlight for a number of hours. You can
also wrap a color gel around a glass bottle, or
place the water in an appropriately colored glass
receptacle in the sun. Setting it in sunlight allows
the vibrational frequency of the color to infuse the
water and provide the imbiber with its wonderful
healing qualities. Then you can simply offer it as a
drink from a bucket, or add it to your horse’s
existing water.
You can also purchase color essences; these are
similar to flower essences, but carry the
vibrational frequency of colors as opposed to
flowers. They are made the same way as described
above, but are pre-bottled and ready to use. Just
add around ten drops to your horse’s water.
3. Outfitting your horse
When choosing tack, and even riding apparel, always
be conscious of the colors you are introducing.
Hint:
I like to think of the
partnership we share with our equine companions as a
combination of energies -- the merging of our auras
as well as the frequencies of anything else we
introduce to the mix.
The colors of halters, lead shanks, blankets, saddle
pads and bandages can all have an impact on
performance, so it is recommended you choose them
wisely based on your goals and desires for training
sessions and events. Some of your steeds may require
calming colors to function at the top of their game,
while others may call for some extra get-up-and-go.
The color of your riding apparel is also important,
as any hues added to the mix will have an impact on
both horse and rider.
4. Surround him with color
The colors you choose for feed bins, stall
interiors, horse trailers and even indoor arenas
also have an influence on your equine. For a
particularly edgy or nervous horse, simply painting
the inside of his stall a soothing green or blue
will help calm him. For a low- energy ungrounded
steed, the color red might be most beneficial.
5. Colorpuncture
This is a relatively new healing modality. It uses
concentrating colored light pens, known as acu-light
tools, on various body points (both acupuncture and
other), in order to create powerful healing impulses
in the physical and energetic bodies. It was
developed by German scientist and naturopath Peter
Mandel, who conducted over 25 years of research to
develop this system. As with other forms of color
therapy, each light has its own distinct frequency
that relays specific information to the horse’s
body. For this modality, you will most likely have
to find a practitioner with the proper equipment and
training.
6. Chakra colors
Another approach to color therapy is using the
associated colors of the various chakras. Chakras
are simply energy vortices or portals in your
horse’s energy body which allow him to receive,
assimilate and express life force energy. To
determine which chakra is related to the specific
condition you are trying to heal, you may simply
pick the closest one to the problem area, or study
chakras in greater depth to determine the
relationship. For general wellbeing, you can treat
each chakra with its associated color as a sort of
“tune up” before a big event, or as a follow-up to a
particular taxing time.
Chakra and Corresponding Color:
Root – red
Sexual progression – orange
Solar plexus – yellow
Heart – green
Throat – sky blue
Sensing – silver blue
Brow – indigo
Crown - purple
Whether you are dealing with undesirable behaviour,
an emotional issue, or a physical ailment, color
therapy might be the answer. When choosing a
particular color (or colors) for your trusty steed,
always remember that you know him best, and
therefore you are the best one to determine what
colors to use. Follow your heart and intuition, and
you will rarely be led in the wrong direction. Note:
Color therapy is not a substitute for good
veterinary care, but can be a wonderful adjunct to
it. Please see your veterinarian for any concerns
you may have about your horse.

An Animal Communicator Seeks Guidance: The Ravens Answer!
by Lynn McKenzie
Let me tell you about the day the ravens came and changed my
life. I was in a quandary. Should I finally sever all ties to my main source of income
for over 15 years, sell my house, and move to Sedona as my guidance was suggesting? This
would involve leaving my wonderful family and friends behind, and moving far away to
follow my spiritual path and pursue my heart’s desire. It would require a free fall into my full time career as
an Animal Communicator and Healer, something my soul longed for and something I had been
doing part time for a number of years now, and my true passion in life. After studying
for 10 years, I couldn’t be more ready.
I already knew the answer to my question, but that day, feeling
a little unsure and somewhat fearful, I just wanted a sign, one that I couldn’t miss! Having always felt a direct
link with the universe, I sat down in my office at the back of my house, and asked for
a sign. Within seconds, six large ravens appeared in the huge old maple tree in my yard,
and began squawking at the tops of their lungs. It took me a moment to realize they were
talking to me, as being a cold winter day, all of the windows in the house were closed.
I opened the door, and stood there reveling in their calls. I decided their message warranted
some deeper investigation, and I went into the front room to meditate on it. The ravens
followed me to the front of the house, and came to rest in my neighbour’s tree, where
they continued to squawk in the direction of my window. This was an important message for
me, and one they didn’t want me to miss! I acknowledged it and thanked them, and
within seconds they were gone. “When you need us, just call,” was all I heard
as they flew off to their next task at hand.
I knew why the ravens had come. They came to show me that I should
trust what my heart had been telling me for years! Their message was that it is now time
to “let go and
fly.” To satisfy my “head,” or logical mind, I consulted the “Animal-Wise
Tarot” deck, by Ted Andrews. I couldn’t have received a clearer message. The
key teachings for raven messenger are as follows:
- not to trust or put faith in the material world…when
we focus on our spiritual
goals, the material will be taken care of
- this is the time to move, failure to act will create more
problems now than not making any decisions or taking any action at
all
- ravens can teach us how to understand and communicate
with animals; with raven, human and animal spirits intermingle and
become as one
- the appearance of raven is confirmation to proceed with
healing work in the spiritual realms
- now is the time to face our fears
To further confirm my message, I consulted the Animal Druid oracle,
and learned that Raven gives the go-ahead for career expansion. Given my telepathic link
to the animal kingdom, how perfect that my “sign” came in the form of communication from an animal,
one I would be sure not to miss. Raven’s message reminds us that to fully experience
the new, we must let go of the old. Filled with gratitude for the clear
message I had received, I grabbed a box and started packing!

Ruby Tuesday
by Lynn McKenzie
Ruby Tuesday, the name I gave to my resident tarantula friend, showed
up on my porch one (Tuesday) evening in August soon after a monsoon rain. This is a time
known to create movement for many desert creatures, mainly due to the fact that their homes
have been flooded. At first I was quite startled, and a little apprehensive to see this
huge, and I mean HUGE, spider ambling up the patio, and even more so when she climbed up
my porch wall and just settled in for an evening visit. I was equally surprised when she
returned the following night and settled in to spend yet another long evening with me.
A little slow off the mark here, I hadn’t even been thinking of communicating with
her, but I realized there must be a higher purpose for these visits and that I had better
pay attention, as Ruby was not going anywhere until I’d received her message. Once
I made the connection, she just poured out the information she wanted
to share with me and I took mental notes.
She informed me that my intuition was deepening and shifting
to a new level and she encouraged me to use it for not just the animal realm, but all
of human kind, something I am trained in, but had not been focusing on. She also relayed
that a part of my life purpose is teaching others to tap into their own intuition. Interestingly
enough this is something that’s
been naturally occurring on its own accord. Ruby encouraged me to expand the expression
of my creativity in ways greater than I was currently doing, including writing more and
painting. Art is something I have always wanted to pursue, but have been hesitant to do,
due to self-imposed doubts and limitations. Writing is a passion that certainly isn’t
being given enough attention at the moment.
After giving me a few more
messages and points taken, she assured me of the
magic I would experience if I took this
information to heart. I watched for her the next
evening and she was nowhere to be found, she had
‘completed her assignment’ and was off on her
next ‘mission’. As the Rolling Stones song goes,
“Good Bye, Ruby Tuesday….”

Energy
Healing for Animals
by Lynn McKenzie
I got the call from Julie one fall afternoon.
“Brule” her beloved Boxer had started to become
more aggressive, to the point of snapping at
everyone but her, and had been exhibiting a
variety of physical symptoms. After a trip to
the Veterinarian where she was assured there was
nothing physically wrong with “Brule”, Julie
returned home to ponder what to do next. She was
in quite a quandary, as she was leaving shortly
for a three week vacation, and was certain that
“Brule” would not accept his chosen care giver,
in fact, she feared he would scare her away.
This is when I got the call. As an energy healer
and animal intuitive, Julie hoped that I could
help “Brule” with his troubles and thus create a
more harmonious atmosphere for all concerned.
How can this be done you might ask?
Like us, our four legged and winged companions
are comprised of energy fields, including subtle
bodies, chakras and meridians. For the purposes
of this article, I will give a very brief run
down of each of the above. The subtle bodies,
also known as the aura consist of the following:
physical body, etheric double, emotional body,
mental body and spiritual body, each of which
surrounds and encompasses the other, similar to
that of a Russian nested doll, in a system
likened to our own. The chakras which are energy
portals or vortexes, that receive, assimilate
and express life force energy, are similar but
not identical to those of humans. The meridians,
as in humans, are energy channels, which run in
pairs through the body and are associated with a
number of the major organs. Eastern philosophy
believes that disease occurs when there is an
imbalance in the meridian system resulting in an
excess of energy or ch’i in one organ or channel
and a deficiency in another. Acupuncture and
acupressure are modalities that are often used
to remedy this situation, and interestingly
enough, it is believed that acupuncture was
first developed for use on horses.
In a healthy animal or human, there is a
delicate balance in each of these “energy
systems”. Traumas, shocks or accidents, whether
they are physical, or emotional, can throw this
balance out of alignment, as can mental or
spiritual issues. A couple of other sources of
imbalance in our animal friends are geopathic
stress and electromagnetic pollution. Once the
energy field is out of alignment, the seeds of
dis-ease are planted, and the individual starts
vibrating at a lower frequency, hence attracting
more energy, of that lower frequency, and
starting a vicious cycle. Energy healing or
vibrational medicine works with the root cause
of the blockage, and clears the energy at a
cellular level, thus preventing the trauma etc.
from further affecting the animal. This healing
work is a process and is done by accessing the
animal’s higher self or soul, and working by
priority via surrogate muscle testing
(kinesiology) or dowsing. We work by priority,
as an animal may be exhibiting one symptom, but
when the priority issue is cleared, using a
method, such as Body Alignment Technique, the
former may automatically disappear. Then we move
on to the next priority, and continue in this
fashion until we reach a point where, through
kinesiology, the animal’s higher self tells us
that there’s nothing more to balance at this
point. This doesn’t mean that more balancing or
clearing can’t be done the next day, week, or
month, but rather that we’ve reached a
saturation point for assimilation for that
particular session. We all, including our animal
friends, have the ability to tap into the
collective consciousness that is the universe,
and this is the information that we are
accessing in our sessions.
Other forms of Vibrational Healing used
frequently in combination with the above are
flower essences, crystals, gems and gem elixirs,
essential oils, and color therapy. Each of these
work on a similar level, by helping to change
the vibration of the animal to that of the
essence, color, crystal or essential oil, and
thus encouraging healing. Everything on the
planet, including living beings, is made up of
energy, vibrating at different, measurable
frequencies. As disease cannot be present at
frequencies above certain levels, it is our aim
to raise the frequency of our furry or feathered
friends, and thus encourage healing.
In case you’ve been wondering, after a number of
energy balances with me, and the use of a couple
of flower essences, crystals and essential oils,
“Brule’s” energy began to shift, and enough of a
change occurred that Julie could go away and
enjoy a peaceful vacation without worry. Her
caregiver was able to look after “Brule” without
a hitch as he had stopped exhibiting all
physical symptoms.
Please Note: Energy Healing is not a substitute
for good Veterinary care.

Can We Talk (with animals, that is)???
by Lynn McKenzie (first Appeared in TechNews, Official Journal for Canadian
Veterinary Technicians)
Well, the answer to that question all depends on whom you’re asking! It would be
very interesting to see what would happen if we took a survey on the side of a busy downtown
street. Somehow, I have the feeling that we may not be taken too seriously by the masses,
at least at this point in time, anyhow. But I, for one, personally know that we’re
just a heartbeat away from a time when all of humanity will know otherwise. In fact, Interspecies
Telepathic Communication is our birthright. That’s right, for each and every one
of us! Now I realize there may be some sceptics in the audience, but
personally I have been shown, time and again, how our beloved animal friends can not only
talk to us, but also listen and understand too!!! They can actually converse with us, sharing
feelings, preferences, challenges, wishes and dreams, as well as negotiate on a myriad
of issues affecting their day-to-day lives.
“Impossible” you may say! If this is your reaction, then you are not alone,
you’re simply one of the many people that have not yet experienced an animal communication
miracle. Once you have, you will become a believer, I guarantee it! These ‘miracles’ I’m
talking of, are available for each and every one of us to witness, firsthand. They are
a part of our ultimate realization and re-membering of the ‘oneness’ of all.
Public awareness and media attention in this field have grown recently, prompting much
interest in this area. In fact, the demand is so high, that I have created a career for
myself in this very exciting field…that’s right; I’m an Animal Intuitive,
also known as an Animal Communicator. My job is to help out in situations where an interspecies
liaison is required. I consider my role as that of healer/interpreter, one who can help
facilitate ‘miracles’ and the witnessing thereof. One who can help to strengthen
and enhance the human-animal-bond.
When would the services of an Animal Communicator be of use,
you may wonder? My services are requested, in a number of different situations, including
when our animal friends are exhibiting physical symptoms after being given a clean bill
of health, to counsel dying animals and their guardians, assist with euthanasia decisions,
and to consult with animals who have crossed over. I’m also called in to assist in resolving conflicts among
animals, reduce stress, help out with emotional and behavioural issues, improve performance
and very often just to tune in and answer some questions the guardian may have, usually
in relation to the purpose of the partnership and any guidance the animal may have to offer.
Some clients just want to be sure that their animal friends feel happy and loved, and enable
them to have a voice in their sacred relationship. It’s important to note that the
services of an Animal Communicator are never a replacement for good Veterinary
care.
The miracles I referred to earlier can include cats wondrously
working out their litter box woes, physical ailments and symptoms suddenly disappearing,
animal friends “coincidentally” getting
along harmoniously, horses becoming less “spooky”, iguanas reciting poetry,
and dogs comforting and sharing with their guardians from the afterlife. The sky is the
limit here. You see, our animal friends have souls and spirits, just like we do, and as
you may have already noticed, they reflect pure “heart energy”, an essence
that just makes us feel good in their presence. They have spiritual purposes
for being with us, and lessons to teach us, sometimes more profound than we may imagine.
I liken them to our spirit guides and angels. By connecting with these spirits, we open
ourselves up to a whole new realm, one that has much to offer us, one that can truly change
our lives.

Interview
with the Intuition Center
I was just interviewed by Nigel Percy of the
Intuition Center, for an audio going out to
their members about my work, and I thought I
would include a portion of it here as the
feature article so you could find out a little
more about me.
What do you currently use your intuition
for?
I am an Animal Intuitive, and my focus is on
helping people create better relationships with
their animals, and awakening people to what I
call the ‘divine mission of animals’ and the
spiritual gifts that their animal companions
have to share. I do quite a bit of connecting
with animals that have crossed over, as I find
that it can be very healing for the human
companions left behind.
I also coach small business entrepreneurs such
as coaches, consultants and solo-preneurs to
increase their revenue, by using their own
intuition and connecting to their souls divine
blueprint. I provide intuitive consultations for
them regarding their businesses and lives as
well.
When did you first learn or know that you
had some intuitive ability? At what age was it?
How did it manifest? What was your reaction to
it?
I think I’ve always known I’ve had it, and
actually as a child just thought that everyone
had the same awareness of the access to the kind
of information that I had. In reality, you and I
both know that they do, however not everyone has
the conscious awareness that they can have
access it. As a child I was very aware of the
feelings of others, especially animals, one of
my true loves, and I talked about them often
even as a toddler. I also remember when I was
12, being in the basement of my home in Toronto
Ontario, and having a visitation by my
grandfather who had just crossed over, in
Belfast N. Ireland, he came to me and put his
hands on my shoulders and kissed me goodbye on
my forehead, and there was not a doubt in my
soul that it was him. I went upstairs to tell my
Mother, (whose father had visited) and I was met
with an acknowledgement that both she and my
Granny had had interactions with spirits in the
past too, so this kind of thing all seemed very
normal to me.
How do you know that it is your intuition
talking to you?
It’s very direct and unwavering, and very
definitive, unlike my own inner voice that may
waffle a bit, especially if I’m dealing with
highly charged personal decisions, or issues
that I have a real attachment to. My intuition
also gives me a sense of relief when I get the
information, almost like I can do a large exhale
and relax into the knowing (like phew, that’s
over with). I guess what I’m trying to say is
there is a very peaceful feeling when I’m
receiving and accepting intuitive information.
Do you have to do anything special, or go
through a specific process in order to tap into
your intuition?
Not as much anymore. I think it’s because I use
my intuition on a daily basis, and as a means
for making a living. For the most part, I feel
very connected all the time, almost as if a
narration is going on in my ear, and feelings
are being felt inside my heart, in general day
to day living. I do want to qualify that
however, as I do seem to be able to turn it off
at will, and have in place for myself a constant
intention that I am grounded, centered,
protected and only connected to the light.
In my classes I teach my students certain
rituals such as brain integration, circuit
clearing and the processes I just mentioned
above as I feel that one must become very
acquainted with the feeling of these, to be able
to activate them at will.
Conversely, when I am being paid to connect to
another being, be it human or animal, I do spend
time going through the process, asking for
higher self permission of both myself and the
client, centering, grounding, clearing circuits,
activating laterality and traveling into their
‘space’ or energy field so to speak. This is
also not something I ever do outside of a
consultation, otherwise I could make myself
crazy being bombarded with so much information
and energy that I feel I would blow my own
circuits or simply burn out, not to mention that
I would be invading their privacy.
Tell us about some of the most interesting
things that have happened to you or that you
have witnessed in relation to your intuition?
There’s so many and they’re so frequent that I
almost take them for granted, I suppose I should
make a list when they happen.
I’ve made a number of very lucrative business
decisions and connections based on using my
intuition, ones that changed my life for the
better, financially and otherwise.
I’ve seen my clients using the intuitive skills
that I’ve taught them, to improve their own
lives, which has also been very rewarding.
I have received information from animals I’m
working with, numerous times, that have
subsequently been verified by scientific
Veterinary testing. There is a testimonial on my
website about a dog Ocean, who told me right up
front, that her trouble was her duodenum, and it
proved to be true and possibly saved her life.
I was on a Canadian TV series entitled ‘Going to
the Dogs’ that followed the Dog Show circuit
around, and the dog that I worked with
energetically and intuitively, Quincy, who was
trying to finish his championship, won right on
camera.
I also used it for purchasing a house in
multiple offers, knowing the lowest price that I
could go in at, to win the auction, and yes, I
did get the house, for much lower than my
realtor friends thought I would!
How has your view of the world changed (if
at all) since you have been using your natural
intuitive talent?
I see limitless possibilities
everywhere, it’s as though the ceiling has been
lifted and anything is possible. It makes me
feel so empowered, and that’s a good feeling to
have. I suppose I also possess more self trust
than some may have, as a result of it, and that
certainly changes my view of the world.

Sick Fish and
Other Phenomenon; An Animal Intuitive Shares
by Lynn McKenzie (first appeared in Plus Magazine)
‘Hey Rose, your fish is sick!’ I heard myself saying to my art teacher. I
was at my private art lesson, sitting at the table desperately trying to wrap my head around
the task at hand, namely starting a new painting. As a new, aspiring artist this is something
that takes up much of my concentration and usually one that leaves little room for other
observations. I am however a professional Animal Intuitive or Animal Communicator and I
just couldn’t ignore the strong messages I was receiving from this goldfish.
To some of you, this may sound unbelievable, but it’s true, I can feel and hear
the thoughts and feelings of animals. This is a skill that I’ve worked long and hard
at mastering and one that with intention, dedication and focus, can be yours. Many of my
students are surprised at how quickly and easily they begin to learn. If you already respect
animals as fellow sentient beings, and practice some form of spiritual discipline like
meditation, that involves quieting the mind, you’re half way there.
Intuitive communication with animals opens us to a whole new
world, one that can be life changing. Animals are here as teachers and healers for us.
They can share information of the highest spiritual nature right down to the everyday
mundane detail. How many of you have learned unconditional love and loyalty from your
dog? It’s even been proven
that we live longer and in better health in the presence of our animal companions. My belief
is that they are continually working with our unseen energies to promote our health, happiness
and well-being. They kind of function like our own personal Reiki Masters. If you stop
long enough to notice, I think you’ll agree.
They can also share important information about their own health
and happiness that can aid us in determining courses of action to take when it’s
less that ideal. You see, when animals with a clean bill of health act out, there is
always an underlying reason and when discovered and rectified, the behaviour can be eliminated.
This is where our detective work starts. Again, the animals are the experts, so I just
tune in and take notes. In following their advice, many of my clients have seen remarkable
even miraculous changes in their animal friends. This is how it was meant to be, human
beings in true communion with all of life.
Many people even start on their own spiritual paths after being
initiated by their animal companions. Do you think this is a coincidence?
I don’t.
I truly feel that is just another one of their gifts to us. What valuable
partners they make. The next time you pass by the kitty, basking in the sunlight, take
the time to really see and honour the divine being in your presence. Now about that painting.
